Merits and defects combine to make a man. Everybody has both, either more, or less, of one or the other. Instead of searching for the faults and omissions of others, rather look for your own. Magnify the good qualities of others and your own defects. Minimise the faults of others and your own good qualities. Be like the bee which is attracted by flowers, and not like the fly which sits on sores and filth. Indulging in carping criticism of others or idle gossip is harmful to Self- culture.
