What we can learn from the Older generation – 19
First of all we should have an ideal. Choose a very, very high ideal, not a low one. We may or may not reach there. Still we have to keep the ideal as high as possible. One day Swami Vivekananda was addressing a meeting in Calcutta. The room was full of monks, devotees and the elite people of the society. He was explaining his grand plans for our country. Suddenly someone shouted, ‘Swamiji, that is impossible.’ Swamiji then said, “Who said that it is impossible? Who said it?” Nobody stood up. “Whoever said it, this is not the place for him. It is possible. Simply because you said it is impossible do you think I will bring down the ideal, water down my ideal? I will keep my ideal as high as Mount Everest. We may or may not reach there but we will work towards that.”
