The man's bondage as well as his salvation are in his own hands. Yet, knowingly and in spite of being warned, we put ourselves into bondage, created by our own folly or delusive imagination and suffer miserably. The plight of the world-bound soul is like that of the man who encircling his arms round a post holds some popped-rice in his joined palms and vainly strains at eating it. He can neither eat it nor let loose his palms lest it is blown away.
