Respected Skendhaji,

My humble pranaams to you for sharing such a marvellous post.

Sri Krishna as Bhagwad Gita

Chapter 1  Dust of the Lord’s feet

Chapter 2  - Pada

Chapter 3 – Ankles

Chapter4  - Knees

Chapter5    - Hips.

Chapter 6   - Generative organs

Chapter 7   - Navel

Chapter 8   - Stomach

Chapter 9   Heart

Chapter 10 - Ornament and robes

Chapter 11 - Long arms

Chapter 12 – Smile

Chapter 13 – Eyes

Chapter 14 – Eyebrows

Chapter 15 - Tilaka

Chapter 16 - Conch like ears

Chapter 17 - Hrishikesha

Chapter 18 - Mukuta

This is something totally a new approach towards Bhagwad Gita.

I am sure, Shri Gomuji who according to me is A REAL EXPONENT OF BHAGWAD GITA (I have no words to describe my feelings after reading his reply regarding BRAHMACHARYA....How extensively he has Gita.....UNBELIEVABLE. Here is a proof that AN HOUSEHOLDER ALSO CAN ATTAIN GOD REALISATION) will definitely appreciate your posting.

As you might be aware that GITA PRESS, GORAKHPUR, LITERALLY CONSIDERS BHAGWAD GITA AS DEITY ITSELF.

There is a temple of Bhagwad Gita in Kolhapur...

Pranams.

It is an interesting and beautiful interpretation.

By the way, Bharatji, I started studying the Gita in detail only for the past one year, that too after a lot of pushing from Anand Maharaj here at Ramakrishna Math, Ulsoor, Bangalore. Still he wants me to be thorough with the traditional explanation of each verse, but I don't have the patience yet for that. I hope someday I will be inspired to take that up. However, by the inspiration given by him, I now enjoy the Gita a lot. The overall philosophy, the depth with which Krishna has dealt with different topics is so beautiful. I have a few friends who have the entire Gita by heart with the meanings of each word. I am no way even near being an exponent. I have so several Gita experts around me here. I am only a beginner. The best means I have to look up Gita quickly is the software from Chinmaya Mission named "Gita Vaatika". It is free software that can be downloaded from http://www.chinmayauk.org/Resources/Downloads.htm It is very easy to locate relevant verses in the Gita using the excellent search in Sanskrit and English provided in the software. There are other interesting presentations too for downloading there.

Gita is very poetic. There are different names used for Arjuna and Krishna in various places. The name used and the topic being discussed are always interestingly connected. When Krishna addresses Arjuna as Kaunteya or Paartha (both meaning son of Kunti, whose another name is Pritha), either Krishna would be taunting at his weakness or appealing to the softer side of Arjuna. When Krishna addresses Arjuna as Bharatarishaba (bull of the descendants of Bharata) or Bhaarata (descendant of Bharata) or Paandava (son of Paandu) He would be reminding Arjuna of his great lineage. When Krishna addresses Arjuna as Dhananjaya (winner of great wealth by conquering several kings) He would be reminding Arjuna of his past great deeds. When He addresses Arjuna as Gudaakesha (one who has won over sleep) He would be appealing to the intellectual side of Arjuna. So whenever you look at a verse in the Gita, pay some attention to the name used to address Krishna or Arjuna. It will be interesting.

With regards,
Gomu.
