Hinduism has raised such persons to the level of Incarnations – world-teachers, Prophets and God-men, who come to this earth once in many centuries to bring humanity’s misguided feet on to the right track. Sri Krishna, Buddha, Jesus, Sri Ramakrishna, are all worshipped as God. Moses, Mohammed, are prophets. Sankaracharya and others are world-teachers. Their lives are our reference-books, open for scrutiny, study and contemplation, ideal patterns to model our lives on. Their lives help us to inculcate faith in the Absolute Reality.
