Those people who have faith in God will be able to understand that God never punishes. Remember - God never punishes. God only wants us to wake up from our self pity, our ignorance. So He gives a slap, a push or sometimes a pinch to wake us up. He does it out of his love for us. This is how religious people will accept suffering.
