Pearls of Wisdom
13-March
Once from Thrissur we took the hostel girls on an excursion to Salem. One of our devotees had an orphanage there and she had made beautiful arrangement for our girls to be taken around. A bus was arranged and plenty of food was provided to last till evening. So we took them to the mountains nearby. We went two days like that. After coming back to Thrissur l asked the girls to write an essay about their trip. They all sat quiet and glum. I asked them, “Wasn’t it enjoyable? Wasn’t it good?” Their reply was that in the excursion there was no exertion. If they had been allowed to climb the mountains instead of being taken by bus it would have been more enjoyable! Then the girls would have been able to write to their parents, ‘I thought that I would not be able to climb up but I DID!’
