Swami Subodhananda
Sri. Ramakrishna had given Subodh a taste of renunciation and divine bliss. He joined the Ramakrishna Monastery at Baranagore. performing the traditional viraja home, Subodh took final monastic vows and became known as Swami Subodhananda. As he was one of the youngest among the disciples, he was known as " Khoka Maharaj" in the Ramakrishna Order. Swami Vivekananda and others lovingly called him " Khoka", which means " little boy". About his days in Baranagore, Subodhananda said:" Swamiji and others were engaged in deep meditation and japam. I used to wash the dishes, sweep the floor, and do all sorts of household work." He was reluctant to say anything about his personal experiences. Once when someone asked whether his kundalini had awakened, he replied," Yes, sometimes I feel a tickling sensation rising from the bottom of the backbone towards the head."
