Obstacles in Spiritual Life – 06
Many of you know the story of a mountain and the squirrel. One day the mountain laughed at the squirrel and said, “What a tiny, insignificant creature you are! What can you do? Look at me, I stand here planting my feet on the earth, rising my head to the heavens, carrying large areas of forests, allowing rivers to flow over my back and spreading over large tracts of land! What are you capable of? You tiny little creature!” The squirrel raised itself up on its tiny feet and said, “Ok. Each one has its own place and importance in the world. So don’t boast about yourself! I am not great in your place but I am great in my own place. You may carry forests on your back, but you cannot crack a nut!” The squirrel teaches the mountain a lesson - each is great in its own place. Isn’t it lovely?
