After the invention of the phonograph it was first presented in the Oxford University before an audience of Dukes and Duchesses, academic giants and other esteemed persons. Professor Max Mueller, the chief guest, was invited by the machine’s inventor to inaugurate the machine by speaking into it. The Professor uttered something which seemed very strange. The whole audience burst into mocking laughter. But the serious sage-like Professor asked them gently, “Do you know what you heard just now?” Perfect silence reigned, all ears eager to hear the explanation. Professor Mueller said, “The first speech of man recorded in literature, the opening line of the Rig Veda, the oldest literature humankind has produced – ‘Agnimele Purohitam’ was what I said. ‘I honour the energy which is the Supreme Principle in the universe.’” The people were stunned at the imaginative power which led those thinkers of long ago to the realisation of the Truth that modern science is dreaming of – the one Power working through the many.
