When I stood there I thought, “You are very clever. You want to go looking for your goal. How do you know that the Bay of Bengal is there?” This is the Western Ghats and the Bay of Bengal is on the eastern side. Lying beside the Western Ghats is the state of Kerala. If the water had gone west, in a short time it would have reached the ocean.  Because of the cliffs it could not, so facing all travails the river Kaveri travelled about miles and miles across South India all the way to reach the Bay of Bengal!
