My experience at Ramakrishna Mission - Delhi

On the eve of Saturday, i happened to go to Ramakrishna mission in Delhi, my basic objective of the visit was to complete my Collection of "The complete works of Swami Vivekananda" as Volume 1 was somehow missing. As soon as got down from metro with my wife...i entered the temple, prayed to Shri Ramakrishnaji, Ma sharada and Swamiji. The aura and ambience of the place had already moved me, though located very near to the main road and metro station one could feel the calm and peace inside the ashram.
After visiting the Library and the exhibition of Swamiji, i moved to the book store got Vol.1 of "Complete works of Vivekananda" AND a picture of Swamiji which said "Strength is Life, Weakness is Death".
As i was about to depart a Swamiji started conversation with me, i told him that iam coming to this ashram after a span of 17 years, somehow today i feel, "although i never was separated", i am reunited with the Holy trinity.
"It was 1989, I was in 8th standard and there was a recitation competition which marked my first visit to Ramakrishna Mission, then although i visited the ashram once again but never left the teachings of Swami Vivekanandaji, courtesy my father who had a huge collection of spiritual books including Swami Vivekanandaji's works which appealed to me the most."
The Swamiji i met queried " Okay Ankur do you remember the recitation that you gave long back...can you recite a few lines of the recitation?"...i said let me give a try....after a few silent moments...i started.....
"If there is one word coming out like a BOMB from the Upanishad bursting like bombshells upon masses of ignorance it is the word FEARLESSNESS"...
"And the only religion that ought to be taught is the religion of fearlessness, arise!!! awake!!!, Awake from this hypnotism of weakness none is really weak, the soul is infinite, omnipotent, omniscient"....
O Ye Modern Hindus, De- Hypnotize yourself, teach yourself, teach everyone his real nature, call upon the sleeping soul and see how it awakes,
power will come, glory will come, goodness will come, purity will come and everything that is important will come when this sleeping soul is roused to self-conscious activity"..
the words had started flowing automatically as if there were always in my thoughts.....
The Swamiji was impressed :-), his hands went toward a book "Arise India" By Swami Vivekananda.
He signed on it " To Ankur, From Swami Satyadharamananda" Gave it to me, and said "Now don't you stop coming over here"...
My eyes were filled with tears of homecoming, i felt as if this is our goal as a human to make others at peace with our good karma....the Swamiji small action of appreciation had touched my Soul...

After reading your NARRATIVE OF "VISIT TO RAMAKRISHNA MISSION" and as
I have expressed MY JOY AND FEELINGS OF BLISS AND "ANANDA", my idea of
COLLECTING SUCH EXTRA - ORDINARY REMININCES OF GREAT DEVOTEES OF THE
HOLY TRIO has taken a definite shape of BRINGING OUT THEM IN A "BOOK"
FORM.
Such book can apart from giving "Joy and Happiness" to the Devotee,
will give LOT OF INSPIRATION TO OTHER DEVOTEES.
As Thakurji used to say again and again :
1. "Karma yoga is very hard indeed. In the Kaliyuga, it is extremely
difficult to perform the rites enjoined in the scriptures. In the
Kaliyuga, the best way is bhaktiyoga, the path of devotion - singing
the praises of the Lord, and prayer. The path of devotion is the
religion for this age." P. 143 The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna
2. "The path of knowledge is very difficult. One cannot obtain
Knowledge unless one gets rid of the feeling that one is body. In the
Kaliyuga the life is centered on food. He cannot get rid of the
feeling that he is the body and the ego. Therefore the path of
devotion is prescribed for this cycle." p. 170 The Gospel of Sri

IN THE KALIYUGA, THE BEST WAY IS BHAKTIYOGA, THE PATH OF DEVOTION....
Will definitely INCREASE DEVOTION IN THIS "MAD MAD MAD WORLD..."
