Power of the Name – 12
Just the other day, I was reading a book in which a modern scientist says that man did not fall from perfection, but he is a pilgrim, his life is a pilgrimage, a journey towards perfection. That is what we say. Christians say man fell when he disobeyed God. Even today they say every person is a sinner, Adam’s sin is still in them. That is why Swamiji had to say in the Parliament of Religions, “What? You are a sinner? Never! You are all children of immortality, children of God. To call you a sinner is the greatest sin.” We are all pilgrims, travellers towards the goal of perfection. How can a pilgrim be a sinner? A pilgrim is a pure soul, looking for purity, travelling towards purity.
