Power of the Name – 21
Arjuna said to Sri Krishna, “You pervade everything, you are everywhere. When I think of a mountain, you are the mountain, when I think of a river, you are the river. Which one shall I concentrate on, in order to get your vision?” Then Sri Krishna identifies himself with the best in each. In the 10th chapter, Vibhuti Yoga, of the Bhagavad Gita, Sri Krishna delineates all that is greatest in the world. Yagnanām japa yagnosmi said Sri Krishna. What a beautiful statement! People do all kinds of yagnas, pujas and things like that. Of all the yagnas that people do ‘I am Japa yagna! - the most powerful one. Do the japa, I am there. I and my name are one and the same. There is no need for you to perform all kinds of yagnas, just do japam. Japa of the mantram can benefit you, it can uplift you without much effort.
