MadhurAshtakam is composed by Shree VallabhAchArya in which he describes Lord Krishna as Lord of Sweetness, Pleasantness & Bliss And everything associated with the Lord as Sweet & Pleasant ~ *Madhura*
Ashta means 8, & since this hymn / Stotra has 8 verses it is called Ashtakam.

hRRidayaM madhuraM gamanaM madhuraM madhurAdhipaterakhilaM madhuram || 1||

adharaM (adharaM) = (n) lip;

madhuraM (madhuraM) = (n) sweet, pleasant;
vadanaM (vadanaM) = (n) face;
nayanaM (nayanaM) = (n) eye;
hasitaM (hasitaM) = smile;
hRRidayaM (hRidayaM) = (n) heart;
gamanaM (gamanaM) = act of going;
adhipatiH (adhipatiH) = (m) king or ruler;
madhurAdhipateH (madhurAdhipateH) = Lord of all sweetness!;

reNurmadhuraH (reNurmadhuraH) = reNuH(m)+madhraH(m),
sand (of Yamuna) or dust/dirt particle; under Krishna's feet+sweet
pANirmadhuraH (pANirmadhuraH) = pANiH(m)+madhuraH, hand+sweet;
pAdau (pAdau) = (m) two legs;
nRRityaM (nRityaM) = (n) dance;
sakhyaM (sakhyaM) = (n) friendship;

~ His flute(its notes), dust under his feet, hand,

bhuktaM (bhuktaM) = eaten thing;
suptaM (suptaM) = sleeping state;

tilakaM (tilakaM) = (n) mark on the forehead;

personality, and the mark on his forehead are all sweet.

gu~njA (gu~njA) = (f) humming

mAlA (mAlA) = (f) garland
yamunA (yamunA) = (f) river Yamuna;
vIchI (vIchI) = (f) waves;
salilaM (salilaM) = (n) water;
kamalaM (kamalaM) = (n) lotus;

lIlA (lIlA) = (f) pleasing play;
yuktaM (yuktaM) = the joined/united one company;
muktaM (muktaM) = the released/freed one;
dRRiShTaM (dRiShTaM) = that which has been seen;
shiShTaM (shiShTaM) = good behaviour;

~ His cowherd girl friends, their sport, company,

separation, looking at them and their good behaviour are all sweet.

Love his gopis/girls and frolic, his catch and release, his ogling and his virtuous stance .

dalitaM madhuraM phalitaM madhuraM madhurAdhipaterakhilaM madhuram || 8||

gopA (gopA) = (m) the cowherd boys;

gAvo (gAvo) = (f) the cows;
yaShTiH (yaShTiH) = (f) stick/sticklike thin body?;
sRRiShTiH (sRiShTiH) = (f) creation;
dalitaM (dalitaM) = broken;
phalitaM (phalitaM) = ripened/bloomed;

~ The cowherd boy friends, the cows, the forms he creates,

his domination over all and the results therefrom are all sweet.
