Faith in the work at hand, is to think firmly that this is the greatest work that you can ever get. Once a highly educated young man came to join Belur Math. He was very proud of his degrees. He came thinking that within two days, he will ‘catch’ Brahman. Being a novice, he was given some manual work. The task was to clean the platform above the steps leading to the Ganga. A bucket and a broom were given to him. Such jobs are usually done by women. So, when the broom was given into his hands, he found it humiliating. He was upset and dejected.
