One day in Dakshineswar, some Sikh devotees came to Sri Ramakrishna. They said, ‘God is merciful, He looks after us.’ Hearing this Sri Ramakrishna looked grave and said, ‘It is His duty to look after us. He is our father.’ There is no need to thank Him for that. He is such a benign father and we are always in God’s hands. He will never leave us. He will look after us wherever we may be.
