Points to Remember in Navratri

  1. Do not start Navratri Fasting in new moon's pratipada; second day mingled with Pratipada is the best day to start Navratri Fasting.
  2. Navratra pooja is done two ways by Kalash Sthapana and without Kalash Sthapana.
  3. Navratri Kalash Sthapna should not be done at night.
  4. Worshiping young girls is also a ritual in Navratri.
  5. For worshiping girls, they should be in between two to ten years of age.
  6. In an inability situation husband can do the rituals at place of his wife and wife can also do the ritual at the place of her husband.
  7. Hawan should be done by a qualified Brahman.
  8. Since Lord Shiva is a form of day and Goddess Bhagvati is a form of night so prayers must be offered at night also.
  9. Goddess Bhagwati is fond of all kinds of red flowers and loving all white flowers with nice fragrance.
  10. Fasting should finish on Navmi or Dashmi.

Really wondering about this mail ! First for the images of Navadurga, second the instructions for fasting, next the brief about the days with mapping for the whole country (i.e. north and south India), the most surprising one was the colours. So many informations at one place. Coming back again and again to read this. Indeed thanks a lot Rashmiji for the sharing.

Pranam,
Sucheta
