We know that Srimat Khudiram Chatterjee, Sri Ramaksishna's father, was unlawfully evicted from His ancestral home by the landlord.

 

The landlord actually sent mercenaries to destroy His home and asked the leader, Shivdas, to arrest Khudiram. Khudiram saw His home being destroyed but did not resist. He did not resist even when Shivdas tried to tie Him up with a rope. However, when Shivdas approached Khudiram, he saw Lord Shiva in matted hair and beard standing in place of Khudiram. At once he fell at Hudiram's feet and pleaded for forgiveness. Khudiram raised him up. Shivdas advised Khudiram to quit the place overnight.

 

Later on the landlord had whipped Shivdas for disobeying his order and Shivdas had left the area.   

 

Who was Khudiram whom Sri Ramakrishna used to call a "Rishi"?
