Unity in Diversity – The Many Faces of Faith - 07

This gives you a bird’s eye-view of the standpoint of Hindu philosophy regarding the various religious faiths. In Hinduism there is no trichotomy between psychology, philosophy and religion. Vedanta deals with man as a whole. Deep-rooted faith in pure Hindu religion cleanses the mind by elevating and sublimating – not suppressing – the emotions. This faith enriches his intellect equipping the Hindu with the equivision and the ability to maintain equilibrium in good fortune and ill-fortune, to save him from superstitions and to get training in practising tolerance and acceptance of other peoples, other cultures and other religions. His faith also fills him with the courage to face the problems of life bravely and with self-confidence, with his eyes firmly fixed on the ultimate goal, his spiritual destiny; the realisation of his oneness with the Supreme Reality.

May we follow the spiritual path shown by Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda to reach God, the goal of our lives, and by His power help others also in their struggle to reach Him.
