When Ramchandra and Latu were about to return to Calcutta, Ramakrishna said to the former," Please send Latu here from time to time."
Latu's body returned to Calcutta but his mind remained in Dakshineswar. After his first meeting with the Master, Latu began finding it difficult to work for Ramchandra with his earlier enthusiasm. After a few weeks, in February 1880, Ramchandra expressed a desire to send some sweets and fruits to the Master. Latu immediately said," Sir, I will carry your things to the Master." Latu walked six miles alone to Dakshineswar with sweets and fruits. He met the Master on the garden path and bowed down to him, jubiliant. He then visited the temple deities and returned to the Master.
