for sonya/johnny/kenshi, i'm fine with fics set between mkx and mk11! there's a lot of potential for them in that twenty-something gap between mk9 and mkx for something special, or kenshi and johnny mourning sonya's death, knowing how much they both loved her, wondering how they'll move forward. or something more action-oriented like a mission with the special forces! take the kids along! feel ship to pair them together as a throuple all dating each other or mix and match them around.
for cassie/jacqui/takeda, i like the idea of cassie and takeda dating jacqui but not each other. maybe doing something to surprise her! spontaneous vacation with the big special forces family! or planning for the wedding - i think cassie wouldn't really care about the idea of getting married or not, so her helping out her metamour takeda would be cool! missions fics are a big plus with these guys (maybe jin can be there, too? tagging along, being himself, asking jacqui how come he can't get a boyfriend while she has a boyfriend and a girlfriend lol)
for liu kang/kitana/jade/kung lao, i was more open to liu/kitana/jade, but i think lao fits in so well in this pairing, too. i love his comradery with liu and the potential banter between him and jade. kitana feels like she could be a good friend to him and tempering force while also serving as a challenge! i'd really like to see something in his perspective about this dynamic, and i'm feeling anything more action-oriented would suit him. i don't think liu kang and jade would be romantically involved, but i do like the idea of kitana having two hands for jade and liu kang! or even something with kitana and jade gently telling liu kang he could follow his heart and pursue his additional romantic feelings for lao? feel free to do what you will!

for cyrax/harumi/kuai liang, i'm new to this one! i think harumi and cyrax would come to really admire each other. harumi sees the kindness and bravery in cyrax and really hopes to open her home and heart to her. i think something centered after khaos reigns would be neat with harumi trying to bring cyrax and kuai liang together! whether you want to pair them all as a throuple or as cyrax and kuai liang being with harumi with each other as metamours is up to you!
for jerrod/li mei/sindel, i like this as jerrod and li mei separately being with sindel. not in a cheating way, but in a "li mei and sindel have a secret romance from the public, one that jerrod is cool with because he loves sindel dearly and knows her heart." i don't have many ideas for this one, but i think the aforementioned premise could be interesting to work with.

for the sdr2 survivors, this can all be mixed and matched to your liking. same with the aforementioned pairing, i think angst fits them so well, along with the aspect of growing together. they've been through such an agonizing ordeal, knowing they're living with the hope of a better future while struggling as their friends remain in pods or even on the boat back to jabberwock.
