This is usually our potluck - are we no longer able to do that in the library?
Abby,
I don’t know if anyone else has replied to you, but here is what I know. We use the upper floor of the library. They have tables and chairs for us, but it is not appropriate for a luncheon area. So we will not have our usual luncheon. I had hoped to host the Dec. meeting at my house, but due to helping out a family member who has just had major surgery, that is not going to work this year. I hope you can still make our meeting and that we can enjoy a show and tell and good wishes for each other for the new year.

Hollow Tree Spinners Guild Meeting Saturday, 12/9/23, will be at the Woodstock Public Library, 414 West Judd Street, Woodstock, IL, second floor. The meeting begins at 10:00am. Bring your wheel or spindle and something to spin while we greet the season for all things cozy and warm. Elevator and restrooms are easily accessible.
If you have time, look for the community knitting project (scarf) on the first floor. Bring your own yarn or use yarn provided by the library to add a few rows in your favorite stitch style to the scarf! Are you in the spirit of giving or experiencing hardship? There is a basket for donating/taking knitting needles and crochet hooks. There is also a Food Pantry (no perishables or items in glass jars) and Cold-Weather Clothing Pantry (winter coats, hats, scarves, mittens, gloves and socks for adults and children. Donations can be given at the front desk. All in need are invited to take from the pantries with no permission or pre-approval needed. Other items of interest at this library: seed exchange, display of historic photos of downtown Woodstock, display of photos and items used in the making of the movie, Groundhog Day, large saltwater aquarium.
See you at the meeting!
Hello ladies! Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the meeting again this month, I'm hibernating in Florida with my mom for a couple of months.Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and Happy Holidays! See you next year!Loraine
Roxanne,
That was a wonderful post. I love all the things that the library does “above and beyond” what is necessary.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sat. And, just a forewarning, I have more fiber to give away. It is shades of gray locks. We will have to play guess that breed when it comes to deciding who produced this fiber.
