Petition for Affiliation - VJ Sekhara

WM, Brethren, 

I am afraid I have erred in the handling of this Petition for Affiliation by Certificate of Good Standing. 

I was aware that when communication is necessary between lodges of different states that communication must go through the respective Grand Lodges. 

I was not aware that we cannot receive a certificate of good standing, issued by an out of state lodge and attached to a petition for affiliation when not received via the protocol describe below.  That was the case on VJ's petition. 

This requirement was discovered when I attempted to enter VJ into the Grand Secretary's data base. The d/b would not let me do it, whereupon I had a chat with a nice lady at GLOT who said I needed to send her the docs I have and the GLOT will send a request for a certificate of good standing to the GL of Connecticut who will send to the constituent lodge and that lodge will issue the certificate and send it to the GL of Conn. and the GL of Conn will send it to the GLOT and the GLOT will then send it to Holland Lodge No. 1. 

Unfortunately Brother VJ not a member of HL at this point. 

Fortunately for Brother VJ his pro rata dues will be less by the time the communication runs the required  course. 

I will leave the minutes of last night's stated as is and will announce this at the next stated. We should then have another vote.

Please see the attached and below. 

It does seem that the R.W. Grand Secretary of Texas has received the required communication for the Grand Lodge of Connecticut and that all that is required is for R.W. Guest to send it to Holland Lodge No. 1. 

Perhaps just an email confirming this would be sufficient. If using forward instead of reply on this email it would have the effect of including the letter and we should be ok.

Please advise. 

We all here are anxiously awaiting confirmation.

My mother lodge in Meriden, CT assumed this might be the process so the Secretary of Meridian Lodge #77 contacted the Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut. The Right Worshipful Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut then mailed a letter to Right Worshipful Grand Secretary Guest here in Texas. I was provided a copy and it is attached. So I believe that the Grand Lodge of Texas must already have this letter as it was written in November of 2013. Do let me know if this is what is needed. I brought it when I first visited Holland Lodge but was instructed that I needed a letter from my mother lodge, not Grand Lodge.
