Here's another video (finally), this one covering MySQL + LVM:

http://www.youtube.com/user/hollandbackup#p/a/u/0/rmKDOqkuDAQ

It's slightly unpolished in a few places but gets the point across I think. I will likely do the mysqldump video next and then re-do the backup-sets overview to cover the new options (or make a short video about the new options). Also on my list is new music for the videos.

Anyways enjoy!

Great work Tim.... everything was a lot cleaner this time (readability/clarity/quality and what not)... the first video was great (DGMW) just saying this one stepped it up a bit.... really appreciated these videos.

Still could use a bit of polish but yeah I agree it's an improvement. I really wanted to get it out last night so I didn't go through the process of clipping some of the "uhms" and things. I did use a better mic this time around which I found helped a ton. Expect more hopefully soon. I was able to crank this one out because the Mrs. and Baby Sweetums weren't home so there were no distractions :)

I noticed you were mounting xfs nouuid, which shouldn't be needed. I
suppose that's to work around holland not mounting the (xfs) snapshot
with the right options. This should have been fixed for a while after
the cleanup in mysql-lvm for 1.0, but there was a minor bug in
filesystem detection that broke this. I fixed this yesterday in
github along with adding xfs unit tests. You shouldn't need to (or
want to) mount the main filesystem nouuid, at least as of holland
1.0.5+.

Honestly I had just been doing that ever since the beginning and never thought to question why :) I can add a note in the video that this is not required for 1.0.5 so that's not a problem once 1.0.5 is out.
