Dear Friends

Do you have a love poem that you would like to share?

Let me begin by sharing with you, one of my favourites by
Shakespeare.

SONNET 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Love

Dear DK and Friends:

Those poems are from Love Poems From God (compiled) by Daniel Ladinsky
(2002):

Rabia (c. 717 - 801)

ONE DAY

One day He did not leave after
kissing
me.

THE PERFECT STILLNESS

Love is
the perfect stillness
and the greatest excitement, and the most profound act,
and the word almost as complete
as His name.

THEY MIGHT HOLD HANDS

Maybe if I brought the moon a little closer
lovers would argue
less.

They might hold hands outside and point to
the heavens and say,

"I think God is up to
something
sweet!"

Rumi (1207 - 1273)

MY LIPS GOT LOST

My lips got lost on the way to the kiss-
that's how drunk I
was.

Luckily though I still connected
with the most tender part
of her.

The moon conceived-what
a wild looking baby
we are going to
have.

WITH PASSION

With passion pray.
With passion work.
With passion make love.
With passion eat and drink and dance and play.
Why look like a dead fish
in this ocean of
God?

ON A DAY WHEN THE WIND IS PERFECT

On a day
when the wind is perfect,
the sail just needs to open and the world is full of beauty.
Today is such a
day.

My eyes are like the sun that makes promises:
the promise of life
that it always
keeps

each morning.

The living heart gives to us as does that luminous sphere,
both caress the earth with great
tenderness.

There is a breeze that can enter the soul.
This love I know plays a drum. Arms move around me;
who can contain their self before my beauty?

Peace is wonderful,
but ecstatic dance is more fun, and less narcissistic;
gregarious He makes our lips.

One a day when the wind is perfect,
the sail just needs to open
and the love starts.

Today is such
a day.

Meister Eckhart (1260 - 1328)

HE TOLD ME A JOKE

My Lord told me a joke.

And seeing Him laugh has done more for me
than any scripture I will
ever read.

ALWAYS KISSING

They are always kissing, they can't
control themselves.

It is not possible
that any creature can have greater instincts
and perceptions than the
mature human
mind.

God
ripened me.
So I see it is true:
all objects in existence are
wildly in
love.

TO SEE AS GOD SEES

It is your destiny to see as God sees,
to know as God knows,
to feel as God
feels.

How is this possible? How?
Because divine love cannot defy its very self.

Divine love will be eternally true to its own being,
and its being is giving all it can,
at the perfect
moment.

And the greatest gift
God can give is His own experience.

Every object, every creature, every man, woman, and child
has a soul and it is the destiny of all,

to see as God sees, to know as God knows,
to feel as God feels, to Be
as God
Is.

Hafiz (c. 1320 - 1389)

JUST SIT THERE RIGHT NOW

Just
sit there right now.
Don't do a thing. Just rest.

For your
separation from God
is the hardest work in this world.

Let me bring you trays of food and something
that you like to
drink.

You can use my soft words
as a cushion
for your
head.

THE WOMAN I LOVE

Because the Woman I love lives inside of you,

I lean as close to your body with my words as I can-
and I think of you all the time,
dear pilgrim.

Because the One I love goes with you wherever you go,
Hafiz will always be
near.

If you sat before me, wayfarer, with your aura bright from
your many charms,

my lips could resist rushing to you, but my eyes, my eyes
can no longer hide the wondrous fact of who
you really are.

The Beautiful One whom I adore
has pitched His royal tent inside of you,

so I will always lean my heart
as close to your soul
as I can.

EACH SOUL COMPLETES ME

My
Beloved said,

"My name is not complete without
yours."

I thought:
How could a human's worth ever be such?

And God, knowing all our thoughts-and all our
thoughts are innocent steps on the path-
then addressed my
heart,

God revealed
a sublime truth to the world,
when He
sang,

"I am made whole by your life. Each soul,
each soul completes me."

Kabir (c. 1440 - 1518)

I HAD TO SEEK THE PHYSICIAN

I had to seek the Physician
because of the pain this world
caused
me.

I could not believe what happened when I got there-
I found my
Teacher.

Before I left, he said,
"Up for a little homework, yet?"
"Okay," I replied.

"Well then, try thanking all the people
who have caused
you pain.

They helped you
come to
me."

NO HARM DONE

There is a sword in a museum not far from me.
It was once used by a great prince
who defended his country
and faith,

and many limbs and heads it
severed.

One day that sword will die as all things will,
and it will stand before God

and the sword's eyes will behold the splendor
of heaven behind our Beloved, and sword will wonder
with all of its heart, "Will He let me in,
because of my
life?"

And God will say to that sword, as He does
to every creature,

"No harm done. No harm done.

Forever welcomed
are all."

Mira (c. 1498 - 1550)

TWO DRUNK BEAUTIES

The moon was perched like a golden hawk on
the mango tree.

I knew the moon was like me-in heat,
crazed and hunting.

So I climbed up there with that wild old gal-
Thinking:

Two drunk beauty like us
will surely snag
Krishna

with our
eyes.

EVEN LONGER FOR HER

Three years went by and I had not
slept with a
man.

I consulted the moon about this
and she said,

it had even been longer
for her,

but she didn't think she was
missing much.

St. Catherine (1347 - 1380)

NOTHING MAKES MORE SENSE

The force that created the unimaginable splendors
and the unimaginable horrors
has taken refuge
in us,

and it will follow our
commands.

Power in the hands of the weak creates suffering
and divides men.

Those who have held beauty work to overcome their prejudice
and seek to bring all into
Her arms,

for nothing makes more sense
than being there
with Him.

THIS PLACE OF ABUNDANCE

We know nothing until we know everything.

I have no object to defend
for all is of equal value
to me.

I cannot lose anything in this
place of abundance
I found.

If something my heart cherishes
is taken away,

I just say, "Lord, what
happened?

And a hundred more
appear.

These are nice, thank you. Here's one I wrote that seems popular;

I have always loved you prodigiously, even before I knew you
I smiled as I dreamed of whom I'd love
Not a vague chimera, but a roaring of dazzling delights

The great universe has winnowed all others away
And my inner vision of you is an ambrosial portrait
Fancy of enchanted realms rarely become a reality

Knowing you I dared the fantasy to sparkling tangible paradise.
One could not ferment such a wonder from cipher
Other dreams could never compare

You enlightened me to the kairos of all magic
You, the sublime essence of all that is bliss

The attunement to the highest of all heavens where Imperfection meets Perfection and time ends

Dear Yasuhiko

Wonderful! Really liked:

WITH PASSION

With passion pray.
With passion work.
With passion make love.
With passion eat and drink and dance and play.
Why look like a dead fish
in this ocean of
God?

If we replace the word "God" with "Love", then the atheist, the
monotheist and the polytheist would all agree and so would the HQR
family.

His Holiness Master Kabir, who you have also quoted, wrote a beautiful
discourse, called "Anuraag Sagar" or "The Ocean of Love" which deals
with our genesis, entrapment by the mind and freedom of the spirit.

HI DK!

I dont know of any love poems but I know of one which in a way is related, that is, it is about judaai or separation.

Some friends had gathered on some happy occasion and finally dicided to sing some impromptu songs/poems. The topic chosen was judaai.

All sang so beautiful songs/poems that one of the last remaining got nonplussed. What to say? But all the same he made the following poem:

Yaaro gal judaai di ki dassan
(Friends, what to say of separation)
saanu tan judaai kadi pai hi nahin
(I have never experienced separation)
Saadi iko beloved te uho vahuti
(I have one beloved and the same is my wife)
Jadon di aai kadi peke gai hi nahin.
(She has never gone back to her parents once she sat foot here)

I hope you and all other friends here will enjoy this too mundane poem as well lol.

Thanks.

PS: I wonder if Master Kabir or Teilhard de Chardin had presented their works NOW HERE anyone would have taken them seriously in the same way as NOW.

HI all, I really am touched by all these poems, your richness makes me
tear up in just the right amount * here is something I stumbled on
today in morning session and seems to hit some of my feelings at least
in the half amount I was able to read :)

The musicality of being is the sound of ice being shattered by
lightning
The diamond prison of the rational mind
Burst by the power of Truth
The iron bars of selfhood
Cracked by the Infinite Mind

I am both creative and destructive, compassionate and ruthless
I create the rainbow relationships of the Buddhas
The interactions of their light and shade
I destroy illusion with the power of Truth
And kill the sense of the separate self
I am compassionate towards those that strive for perfection
And I aid them in the casting off of desires
I am ruthless towards the evil, the clinging, and the desperate
For only the pure may approach me

I hold the reins of creation in my hands
The first light of the Void and its wave of divine colors
I hold and store them, refract them within my crystal
The prisms of cut-glass within my symbolic waters

My shakti is Vajrabodhi Dakini, the diamond wisdom of the Void
She is the channel by which my energies of creation take form
She is the vessel which holds the light, the diamond which surrounds
me
Whose true form is the crystal vajra

My music is ice and snow, wind and water
The victorious shout of the ascetic as he transcends the wrathful
aspects
The moan of the tantrika as he is overcome by brilliance
The exploding dynamite of a man escaping from prison
The glorious silence when the chains of attachment to light have been
left behind

To the seeker I say:
The Buddhas of the Vajrayana are powerful, and one must be pure
Not only to approach and encounter them
But in order to escape once you have done so
Each has beings who live for him alone
And may never leave to travel higher
For they cling to the Buddha and cannot give up his light

Do not love beauty and do not cling
Or the rich rosy light will wind you a crimson shroud
Do not love power or striving, and do not conquer others
Or the emerald sword will spear you to the ground
Do not love sensual harmonies and the swaying of nature
Or the golden rows of grain will hide the sky
Do not love the icy purity of detachment and the isolation of space
Or the cold blue surfaces of the mind will prevent you from freedom

Follow the path of peace and tranquility
Renounce all attachments
And strive for Truth and Freedom alone
For the most high beings may yet act through personality
The light of the god is not yet free
The concept of enlightenment must yet be rejected
For the experience of freedom to dawn.

Vajrasattva

The Primordial Buddha of Diamond or Rainbow Light

blessing to all in the just the right amount *

I started blogging a bit more and clicked the tranlate to hindy button
- it allows to to express one nglish word at a time then poof it is
transmuted into a symbol I cannot read. it is a little twisted for a
trauma recovery person to let go of so much at one time but good
practice to allow to feel being held by universe, a trust not frequent
in age of anxiety but can be unwound, especially through love and
gentleness with consciousness - thanks for the love as it seeps into
our future.
