Dear Associate Professor Lan

The Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is seeking your interest and availability to participate as a Member of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) – Preventive and Public Health Research Initiative – 2023 Chronic Respiratory Conditions Grant Assessment Committee (GAC).

NHMRC is establishing a committee of experts to review grant applications and participate in a GAC meeting via videoconference. Committee members would need to be available in August and September 2023 for initial assessment of applications with the GAC meeting tentatively scheduled for Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 October 2023.

If you could indicate your interest and availability by 10 May 2023 by return email it would be very much appreciated.

Please note, if you are a Chief Investigator on an application submitted to this grant opportunity, you will not be able to participate on the GAC.

By way of background, the Australian Government announced it would provide up to $25 million from the MRFF to support Australian medical research and medical innovation projects that:

·        Stream 1 (Targeted Call for Research): develop treatable trait-based precision medicine approaches for chronic respiratory disease.

·        Stream 2 (Targeted Call for Research): clinically validate scalable approaches to medication and therapeutic adherence and/or self-management of chronic respiratory diseases.

On 8 February 2023, the MRFF – Preventive and Public Health Research Initiative – 2023 Chronic Respiratory Conditions Grant Opportunity opened for applications and closes on 14 June 2023.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards

Chris Jennaway
