Hi! I have just inserted empty MIDI item, then moved right edge to get 8 bar length (without Ctrl modificator) and started to edit in the MIDI editor. Any note added in the first bar is duplicated in the all next bars. How to avoid duplication?
As I am not keyboardist, I always wanted to see notes on the piano roll while I edit midi notes. For example, I believe this DAW is reason studio and this daw shows us individual notes like this

Thanks for the tip, this worked to let me use Notepad++, but then I tried opened the project on another PC without this tool or the environment variable set and it causes an error and doesn't open the default (regular notepad) nor the setting in Setup-Tools.
Can you share screenshot of the error message? If you are opening the same project on another machine, DE-HDL is possibly looking for the $CDS_TEXT_EDITOR env variable, which is not defined. Try putting 'notepad' in Tools > Options >Text on machines where Notepad++ is not available.
My app that lets users add notes for clients on their accounts (like, someone called) already has 74k records and is used by a team of about 3-4 daily working M-F answering calls. It was launched in July 2021.
I have been experimenting to see if I can find something else better, without starting to buy into a full blown second note taking system (i.e. Keepit, Bear, etc.) I am thinking that maybe markup is the way to go, but again I would like to have the occasional graphic, picture, etc. included. I also found Drafts is not bad (and free), but it is one way editing.
Note: The position of a footnote in your Markdown does not influence where the footnote will be rendered. You can write a footnote right after your reference to the footnote, and the footnote will still render at the bottom of the Markdown.
An online notepad is a plain text editor that you can use to create, edit, and save text-based documents in real-time on the Internet. It is the best Wordpad online over conventional notepad software that you can use offline.
Text Editor Online is a web-based tool that allows users to create, edit, format, and manipulate text directly within a web browser. It serves as a convenient and accessible editpad for working with text-based content without the need to install specialized software on your device. Here are some of the key functions of our online notepad:
Our notepad online is quite different from normal text editors since it allows you to create an account and sync all files/documents across different platforms. You can access and edit your notes on computers, smartphones, and tablets as long as you're connected to the internet.
Unlike other text editors and word processors, our online notepad allows you to create an account and register as a user. This helps you synchronize your work across all the devices or platforms you work on.
I am trying to edit a dimension on a drawing that is embedded in a note (or table). In Creo 2.0 if you picked the note once, then picked the dimension inside the not to highlight it, you were able to then RMB and select properties where a dialog box would come up and I could edit all the dimension properties. The ones we change most often were the decimal places and changing the dual dimension to be form top/bottom to read left/right (or side by side). Well inside Creo 3.0 with the new text editing, you do not get the option to go to the properties either by highlighting and RMB or double clicking. Nothing gives the option to change these items as before. Does anyone know how we can change these dimension in this manner without removing them from the note, making the changes in the original dimension position and then adding it back into the note.
An example note would be "Move this plate down &d10 before welding". And what we would like to change as we did in all prior versions is the &d10 while editing at the note location. Hope this all makes sense to everyone.
That's okay for the value, but often I find that I stupidly forgot to set the tolerances of the referenced dimension, and can't get to the "properties" of the dimension unless I kick it out of the note and/or table. In other words:
Yes, this is what I want to avoid. That is the workaround we have done immediately but this is way too much work when you have a table of 100+ dimensions that we need to make these type of changes to and multiple drawings this has to happen on. I just can't believe they removed the functionality for this at the note level. It has worked that way since Rev 18 (and probably earlier but that's the version I started on) and now all of a sudden that functionality is gone. I have a LOT of unhappy users at the moment.
This does work as another "Workaround". As does the removal of the dim from the note, making the changes, and then re-adding the dim. Thanks for the heads up though. I was actually referenced to that SPR and told that I would be kept updated as that SPR was updated. Look how well that worked. I heard from someone in the community before I heard from the PTC help. Hopefully they will get it fixed "correctly" to cut out the added steps now needed to do such a seemingly simple task.
I tried all the solutions listed here, but it seems like my version of Creo 3.0 doesn't have the same options. There's no "individual text" filter on my annotate tab, no "edit value" option in the RMB menu, and the "properties" option in the RMB menu just takes me to note properties. I did find a really simple workaround though, for anyone who's having the same issue.
If you create the dimension on the drawing, set the options you want (e.g. dual dimension position -> right), and then use that dimension name in the note instead of the dimension name from the model, it will have all the same properties. For example, my model has dimension "d0" that I tried to use in a note, but none of the properties would carry over. When I created the dimension in the drawing, Creo named it "add30" and I was able to use that in the note instead. All properties I change in the dimension carry over to the note. Hope that helps.
On a side note, I have access to a different MOODLE site (same version, 2.9) and there the toolbar exists when entering content. Where can I pinpoint the difference in settings between the two MOODLE sites where one has the text editor toolbar and the other does not?
Please put it back! We need to be able to edit the Date Updated field in the Note Info screen. My default sorting of notes is by Date Updated. I often go back to very old notes and change something minor like the notebook it is in or a tag, but I do not want the Date Updated to be changed! Now this very old note is clogging up my usually refined list of the latest notes that I'm working on.
I agree that it would be logical to allow changing the date updated in the same way that you can change the date created. The ability to change the date created was not in earlier versions of V10 so I think it is entirely possible that EN might reintroduce the ability to edit date updated sometime in the future. I now pretty much use date created all the time and use tags to identify notes I am currenlty working on (e.g. $current)
There is a hack to change the updated date but you may well decide it is too much effort! You need to export the note as an .enex file and then open it with a text editor and manually change the date. Then import.
I have no idea why EN believes I exported this note on 26 August 2022 (current date 26 July 2022). Looking back at other exports it always gets it wrong! Perhaps they are adding one month instead of 1 hour to account for summer time?
I'm not sure who 'We' are... It isn't me or, probably, many other users. In any case these forums are user to user so you would be better raising this using a support ticket to ensure you get attention from Evernote.
When importing from an ENEX file, EN will always create a new notebook, and load all notes from the ENEX into it. This is how the import function works. Since the notes are created newly, they run under the current date, and have no note history attached.
As has been noted elsewhere there is more than one way of importing. If you double click the enex file on your computer it will import it into the default notebook and not create a new notebook. However, this doesn't alter the fact that moving a note to a different notebook changes the update date. You could, of course, change the default notebook before double clicking on the modified enex file, but this is now looking more like a walk to the end of the road via the summit of Everest than a sensible workaround. I think you will need to wait for EN to reintroduce the feature (if they ever do - remember that they didn't do it when they reintroduced the ability to change the creation date) or find an alternative workflow.
Thanks for that Mike. Yes, my first unsuccesful attempt was by using the import function in the File menu. Thanks for letting me know about double clicking instead. That worked although I had to change default notebook first. And yes, I hope the ability to edit dates is re-introduced.
Ideally I wouldn't have to edit dates. Legacy Evernote does not change the update date if I add a reminder to an existing note, move to a different notebook and possibly (I can't remember) add or amend tags.
That being said, since notepad++ is based on scintilla, scite is probably worth checking out. Scite is based on scintilla as well, though as fred.bear points out, it might be less feature-rich than you need.
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to embed a text editor (i.e. Notepad++, Emacs, etc...) into a string control on a front panel GUI. By this I mean instead of a 'dumb' string control on the front panel, it is another program like notepad++ being shown in the front panel, with all of the functionality and finesses that the original program includes. I could create a notepad++ light edition using the string control and whole bunch of events, but it would be much easier if I could just show a finished program inside of the front panel 'container'. I have another program that is an analysis program in which I do this very thing... that program exposes an active x object that I then use in another VI. Currently I have used the system exec function together with the command line command codes to perform the functionality that I need. It just isn't as good as having control remain in LabVIEW. This VI launches notepad++ and waits for the user to complete editing the text and saving the file. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
