I'm contacting viber's support to see what we can do if we can manually delete unneeded data. But on the Apple side, I just want to ask if adding the 50gb/monthly icloud plan would not only upload all the photos but the viber data as well? Also I read this old thread Viber backup data on iCloud. - Apple Community where TheLittle's states that Upgrading the storage is an option but recommends contacting Apple Support.
In my previous ubuntu installs I've downloaded a deb for 12.04 from the viber website. From there I have needed to install some dependencies; not a biggie. But now I'm seeing viber in the snap store. I'm thinking cool, this should be easy.

Viber aims to give its users an easy, fast, reliable and secure communication platform by providing an intuitive interface and operating with files in a privacy-preserving way. We believe the modern scoped storage paradigm provides this foundation for app developers and users.
Scoped storage changes the way that apps store and access files on a device's external storage. Viber needed to evaluate the differences between the existing app's storage model and updated platform guidelines, followed by gradual application changes to work with files in scoped storage. Therefore Viber invoked the requestLegacyExternalStorage flag to temporarily opt-out of scoped storage on Android 10 until the app was fully compatible.
In order to adjust their app experience to scoped storage, Viber now contributes public media files to well-defined media collections using the MediaStore API. This way, the files are accessible in a device gallery, and can be read by other apps with the storage permission. Private media files are stored in the app-specific directory on external storage and are accessed via the internal ContentProvider.
Previously, Viber created and consumed files in a custom top level directory and depended on file path access. With scoped storage, saving app files to a top level directory became an anti-pattern, so Viber has followed best practices to update their implementation to store media files from the chats only in locations that are accessible in scoped storage.
Previously, Viber heavily used File API to access files, including files in legacy storage locations. Further, they stored absolute file paths for entries in the local database to keep the user's conversation history.
This approach has also helped Viber optimize the network layer and define a universal Loader abstraction to upload/fetch and to read/store different types of media files like voice messages, chat images and stickers.
Viber does not store any chat information on its servers once it is delivered to a recipient. If there is a problem delivering a message, it will remain encrypted until the receiver gets it, and will disappear from the server once it has been delivered.
The number occupies last bytes of files. There is a 7-byte header in front of it. The number in the canonical form includes the country code and the actual phone number without spaces, hyphens, brackets, and other symbols. The non-canonical number is commonly stored by a Viber user in a free form.
The files in the '/sdcard/viber/media' path are the profile photos (/User Photos/) of people in the user's contact list who use Viber, regardless of whether they have been added as friends in the app. Under the path images (/Viber Images/) and videos (/Viber Videos/) sent through the app are stored as well.
The database containing a meaningful part of communications is located in the 'viber_messages' file, which is located in a subdirectory named 'databases' or 'db' (the subdirectory's name depends on the Viber version).
There is a table 'phonebookdata', where additional phone numbers are stored. The most useful columns are:
- 'contact_id' column, which contains the unique identifier of the corresponding contact from the abovementioned 'phonebookcontact' table
- 'data1', 'data2', 'data3' and 'data5' columns containing the phone numbers
Each found signature is an entry from the 'messages' table of the messages database. Record fields are stored sequentially and can be read one by one. The length of a field is determined by the value of its first byte. You can extract the ID of an interlocutor, direction and text of the message, but it is quite possible to extract the date as well.

Hi All,my question is related to topic of opening pictures and sending ii on viber.Since this morning i can not open any of them, with the message:this photo is no longer available on vibers servers. to protect your privacy we keep mesaages and media for a limited time only.Each sender try to resend the photos and i can not open them at all, neither i can send the media.How to fix this?
I have Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300). I have 5GB free space on internal memory.A couple days ago WhatsApp and Viber were gone (In the application manager instead WhatsApp I saw com.whatsapp.. same for viber- saw the package name and the two apps's size is 0)
