Can anyone tell me suggested price and availability of a pair of underwater hockey goals? I am based in Zürich, Switzerland, so an ideal would be a transportable distance from there, but I'd imagine the number of people able to make goals are few and far between.

I last bought a set of goals for my former recreational club, Chesham in the UK, in about 2001, from Jeremy Wilcox, from GB Men's Elite & Masters player who owns his own fabrication plant in Northampton. These goals cost me £200, all in, but unfortunately Jeremy no longer makes hockey goals.

I have now had a quote of 1700 Euros for a pair, which seems an astounding price, anyway, but especially considering the price that I paid for my last set of goals, albeit eight or so years ago.

My group in Zürich has been going for about 6-9 months now and we are still playing with goalposts that are empty peanut tins weighed down with diving weights, so we really really need goals, not least because it will be perfect for giving my new players some flicking practice that will then raise our level most considerably.

All suggestions of potential sources and an idea of price would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks,

In Chicago we only have one set of real goals and just use pvc goals at
our other pools. Its really simple and cheap to make, you need one long
piece of pvc with an L connector at either end, then a short piece of
pvc coming out of the L to give you height, a T connector beneath those,
and then 2 short pieces coming off the T to give you a base. Attached
is drawing of how it should look.

We paid $250 for our goals this summer, but that was only for
materials as one of our players is a metal fabricator. I guess you
need to focus your recruiting.
