well I need some translations/ definitions:

what is: age group world cup

A world cup for age group based teams

what is: top 2 PA

Top 2 teams from the Pacific/ Asia Championship if held.

what is: Pacific?

The pacific ocean.  A zone created by continents that border the Pacific ocean

what is: AG WC
Age group World Cup

in 2011 top 3 e - men and women?

Top 3 teams from European/ Africa event.

where: are the Americas in the plans?

Pacific/ Asia/ America all one zone.  The limit is one international long haul flight.

Euros/Africa: schedule referring to zones? as Europe/Africa zones?

Yes-  Cheaper flights to Europe for South Africa when compared to flights to  NZ/ Americas

and you list 2 events for 2010 without hosts or time frame for a year that begins in 6 weeks. What happened to the 'junior' thing for April next year? or am I mistaken?

Colombia 2010 was to be a combined World Cup to rank for CMAS games but difficult to sort out agreement between the Colombia Underwater FED and Colombia Players.

Euro's is portugal in April.
The pacific event is yet to be sorted and we are trying to avoid August completely.

USA told everyone last year and again this year, we are prepared to host an all fed, all divisions event in 2012 - where there is a blank slate. Guess the commission is not interested as US only prepared to do an all come ...........:-\

If you would like it to be a CMAS sanctioned event then it can be listed.  Personally I have been focused on a plan for events 2011 and beyond and how to develop structures to support growth.  Basically all the discussion is about 2010.  In reality this just delays the decisions in splitting events etc.

Tristan,

Not that I'm trying to change they way the zones are split up but for most of the American Players the flight to Europe is not only cheaper but shorter.

So the idea of having cheaper flights for say South Africa would that not only need to Apply to America since it would be cheaper for America to fly to Europe?

As well the same might be as well for Canada which is probably closer to Europe then say some of the southern Pacific countries.

Please don't take this as me wanting to change what you are doing, but the logic you provided below should be applied equally to all countries and based on the little bit of information provided it looks like it doesn't.

Hi Greg,

I believe the proposal is designed to get  over the 5 countries rule.  Based on Cost Europe might be the preferred location.  Why not swap to be ranked via Euro's but that tournament has its on Pool constraints.  I personally haven't looked at this detail.

What about venue being Singapore?

Its a shame that Colombia internal issues prevent it being used as a CMAS event in 2010 to provide the ranking mechanism.

The calendar we have released continues to develop as you can see it is noticiably different from the proposal based on the Kranji decisions as well as I have started looking at the actual details.  The proposal has received great feedback but unfortunately not many people have seen it looking at the fiece email debate.

Changes so far....
  • Tournament no longer than 9 days.
  • Elites and Age Groups split
  • Elites-  Term used to removed reference to age
  • U18 changed to U19 to make USA and Canada happydue to there lack of player numbers and promote growth
  • U21 changed to U23 to the grade viable and promote growth
  • Masters included to promote growth
  • Four year cycle to remove financial burdan
  • Focua on World Cups no CMAS Games.
  • CMAS Games format to match World Games Format constraints
  • Dates-  Discussion that July is the preferred date for World Cup events and April for Elite.
Therefore should America attend the Euro's comp or..
America attend the Asia/ Pacfic comp or..
North Ameria attend  Euros and South America attend the Asia/ Pacfic or...
Is there a separate country playing UWH in America that can form and independant event.

I will create a thread on the forum to discuss for a valid discussion

Tristan

Where is the complete proposal on the web? I must say I don't think I have seen the complete proposal and I'd like to read it.

Can you direct everyone to where it's located so that all can read it?
