Dear HOBY Alumni,
National Public Radio’s Talk of the Nation invites you to join us for a special live broadcast with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. The Secretary will be joining us on Thursday, September 2 at 3 pm at our studios at 635 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. He will be talking about his vision of public education in the United States and how the Department of Education is working to guarantee that every student in this country receives a quality education.
Talk of the Nation is a live call-in program broadcast to over 330 stations in the United States and overseas. For this program, we want to hear from students about their vision for their own education and concerns about their own schools. That is why we are inviting HOBY alumni currently enrolled in high school to join us and bring their ideas and questions to the program. This is a unique opportunity for Secretary Duncan to hear directly from young people about what is important and of concern to them
If you can join us, we ask that you be at our studios by 2:30 pm on Sept, 2. The program will be on the air from 3 pm to 4 pm. We have room for fifty students. If you plan to attend, please respond by August 26. When you respond, please include a question or comment for Secretary Duncan.
I look forward to hearing from you.
