Has any successfully implemented Open LADP Authentication with Hobo Users?

I'm getting ready to write an app that will only be used internally by company employees that uses used Open LDAP for all other authentication (mail, file server access etc) so I'd like to tie into it instead of forcing the users to create yet account username/password to memorize.

We use rubycas-client to talk to a CAS server which speaks LDAP.

Another option is to use devise, people have successfully used that
with Hobo in the past, and it's a very popular option for new Rails
projects.

I've seen device around before.  So I'd basically just replace the hobo user model with one from device and setup device just per it's own docs?  Or is there some combo of the two I'd do?

I'll take a look at rubycas-client also, not heard of it before.
