Hello Everyone, I was trying to get this exact same thing done, and
having the same issues. I found someone trying to do the same thing
here:

http://groups.google.com/group/hobousers/browse_thread/thread/4ad99937a5bd494/182bf02e5f9cf771?

I think it has something to do with the Javascript, but I can't really
tell what since I don't know Javascript. Any help?

Hobo 1.4 has a hot-input tag:
http://cookbook-1.4.hobocentral.net/tagdef/hobo_rapid/inputs/hot-input
which is designed to do this sort of thing so should be easier to use.

Thanks Bryan, I see that being much more convenient, but I can't
upgrade to 1.4 right now, how could this be done in 1.3?

hot-input in 1.4 depends on the new ajax form infrastructure, so
cannot be back-ported. Tweaking the recipe is going to be difficult
without any javascript knowledge. Is your app open source?
