Cannot get hobocopy to work

As a test, I want to copy a file from one folder to another. source: c:\discs    destination: d:\discs     file name: 1.rar

Windows 7 SP1

Here is the command line and the results, I cut it at File 122, but the file numbers would go on endlessly into the hundreds of thousands, just to copy 1 file?

I'm not sure what problem you're having: you didn't say. Is it that the file isn't being copied? Or is the extensive output the problem? The logging is verbose because you specified /verbosity=4. Omit that and you should see far less.

Hobocopy works via the Volume Shadow Service, a disk snapshotting facility built into Windows. It's how hobocopy is able to copy files that are in use. The snapshot is what is taking all the time. If you're not trying to copy files that are in use, don't use hobocopy. If you are, you're going to have to wait for the snapshot.
