Hi,

I have had a handful of reports like this - but I haven't been able to pin down what is triggering it.

it would help if you could post your iOS version just in case that is relevant.

My first guess is that this is a network issue - something on your network is stopping the stream. This has happened in the past when firewall/security software sees the streaming and decides that it is dangerous for some reason, then cuts the connection.

if you have any firewall or similar, then it would be worth testing with that disabled. (you can disconnect from the internet to be safe while you test)

I had the same issue, it took me time to figure out exactly was was causing the issue. Not sure if we have the exact same issue here, but for myself when I'm in the helper config panel under the File Getter tab and I activate the feature by checking "Allow 'File Getter' to access file", I get this exact message "Playback Stopped Stream Ended Unexpectedly" when I start a stream on my iDevice. Also coping the video file (feature on the VLC Streamer pay app) is not working on my iDevice, it saying the UI that the video file is downloading, but it's never progressing and the file actualy never download. Also it break File Geater app, where you canot featch any file on your device, It show my computer, I can browse file, but when I fetch them nothing apend. It's frustrating because I pay for both app...

All this is working if you turn File Geater feature off in your helper app... Also to make File Geater work again you can download the old File Geater Helper app and install it individualy. It just sad because the file geater helper app is old and have some issue (like file over 2GB dont downlad...) I tought the VLC streamer helper would fix that with the File Geater app, but it just broke the thing lol. Also it's a good idea to have only 1 healer app to make both App work...

I hope Hobbyist Software will fix that soon...

Best regards,
William Laferté.

Forgot to mention one more thing (lol sorry, but appenrently I cannot edit a previous message). The VLC Streamer Helper app with File getter feature on give better file browsing then the old File Getter helper app, where In the newer one I can see mounted network drive and browse them and select the contain on it, but I can't see them at all in the older helper app. So that's more reason why It's frustrating to have to use this setup with 2 helper app.

that's a super-helpful observation. Hopefully I can recreate that and figure out what is going on.

Thank you

quick update: I was able to replicate this, so we should have a fix out shortly in the Windows helper.

Thanks again for sharing the details on how to replicate the issue.

Thanks for the fix btw. But still have one issue with file geater app, I still can't downlaod file of over 2.5GB in file geater. When I click on the file over 2.5GB it behave normaly, but when you go see the file downloading it's jsut stay to 0 indefinitly. Is it a normal limitation of the app? Is it something you can adress or at least give a message that file over some size will not work insted of "downloading" it indefinitly?

Hi - it isn't a deliberate limitation, but I'm not super surprised that one of the components is failing to handle files this large.

I'll note it down as something to investigate next time I'm looking at FileGetter.

thanks.
