Hello everyone,

The subtitles to any video file (.avi, .mp4, .mkv) I stream with .srt subtitles do not work.
I have tried renaming the file and subtitles to have the same name (of course) and the subtitles do not work. I have tried checking "show subtitles" from the PC program and using custom fonts and the subs don't work. I have tried adding movies from my iPhone directly and enabling subtitles during that process and they don't work. I even tried to switch the subtitle encoding a couple times in a desperate attempt to make them show up, yet they didn't.

I have absolutely no idea what is wrong and it is enfuriating me. I remember the subtitles working when I first bought the app some years ago but since then they have disappeared completely. I have searched the web extensively on multiple occasions and I have gotten zero results. Please, help me.

Which version of the app are you using?
iPhone app, iOS9, iPhone 5S
Which helper version are you using?
Windows, 5.11

Oh yeah and I should mention I have tried reinstalling both the Streamer app and Streamer helper.

I'm not sure what might be happening here.
How are you adding the movie to the helper?

I just tested on win 10 with vlc streamer 5.11

I added the movie:

folder/X_Legend_Short.mp4
which has subtitle
folder/X_Legend_Short.srt

the subtitles were render properly.
I added the movie by dragging it to the helper.

the important settings are in the 'advanced conversion settings'. Try opening that and clicking 'reset conversion settings' _before_ adding another movie to try again. (by dragging it to the helper on your windows machine)

let me know if that doesn't help.

I tried it out by dragging and it didn't help. Also tried resetting the conversion settings and that didn't help. But I did figure out what's going on.

You can't play titles from an external drive and have subtitles. Only files that are on the computer's internal drives seem to work with subtitles. What a pain in the butt that was to find out. Ah well, at least I know now.

Thanks to Confused Vorlon for the help. :]

that's something I didn't know. Thanks for figuring it out.

I'll have a look - there may be something we can do about this...
