Kind: Application (Intel)

I love VLC, and want to upgrade learn to use it more, however, I too have received warnings that this program will no longer be accessible by my MacBook Pro, as apple will no longer. be using Intel.  One work around is by using Rosetta .   This is all I know and was seeking an update to the program.  Will one be coming.  I'm concerned, because a previous post, from April has not yet been answered.  Should I abandon my hope and look for a different media solution for my computer?
