June 1 is the final Forum of this season from KC’s longest running conversation.
KC’s multi-decade source for community civil discourse (over 60 years!) concludes this season with a great panel discussion on social security.

Forum, June 1, 10 am
“Attacks on Social Security” with Max Skidmore, David Kingsley, and James Webb

For three-quarters of a century, Social Security has provided financial security for millions of U.S. citizens.  Our speakers have advocated for Social Security and Medicare for decades. They will open with summarizing comments on the attacks against the programs and discuss misrepresentations.  An impressively wide range of research experience will be brought to questions.

This MORE2 (Metro Organization for Racial and Economic Equity) banquet supports a local group that’s a coalition of organizations (locally, regionally, and nationally), partner groups (St. Louis, Oakland, Chicago… --including Obama’s first community organizer job), and churches.  This year they’re featuring Rev. Dr. William Barber (started nationally spreading Moral Mondays, frequent MSNBC contributor, steady and strong voice for addressing economic injustices like minimum wage…).

This man is the sort of leader that you’ll wish to have seen and heard in person at least once.
You’ll enjoy the dinner, conversation, new friends, and fellow community advocates.

You’ll forever remember this energizing speaker.

I thought I’d share something that you’ll wish you knew about, instead of hearing the buzz after the event.

If you’d like to hear in person the sort of individual that will make the history books, do not miss June 12.  Not often in KC do we get such a highly sought after speaker and leader like Rev. Dr. William Barber.  If interested, contact hl...@hotmail.com for more info.
