A review on the 2013 legislative session and a preview for 2014!

*NOTE* A change in speakers due to a special session called by the Governor

Rep Judy Morgan, Senator Paul Lavota, Rep Bonnaye Mims have been called in
to session.

Our speakers:

*Gene Morgan

Gene will discuss the main issues covered in the 2013 session including the
gun bill, school transfer law, voter ID, death penalty, and denial of food
stamps to drug felons. He will also offer a preview of the 2014 session.

Gene worked in the field of corrections and substance abuse prevention for
his entire career, last serving as the President of the Kansas City
Community Center from 1990 until his retirement in 2010. Since retiring
Gene enjoys teaching classes in the Criminal Justice Department at the
Metropolitan Community Colleges.

*Brian Colby

Brian will discuss Medicaid expansion and other health care issues. He will
also address the tax bill - HB 253.

Brian is an MU graduate in Political Science and Economics. He previously
worked as MASW's health policy director. Presently works with the Missouri
Health Care Alliance.
