One of the speakers (this past Sunday at the General Assembly meeting when OccupyKC was at Ilus Davis Park) commented, “After just about a month, many people are talking about what you’re doing.  Many are with you!”

Though there were only 50 or so on that somewhat chilly evening at the park between City Hall and US Court House, they will need your support.

If there was ever a petition for you to drop what you’re doing and do the easy click on the online petition…

Consider also whatever you may be willing to do to increase your awareness and support for the people doing the courageous brunt of social change.

Thanx,

Dave

Below is an email from Juda Ashriel Sky, a MoveOn member from Kansas who created a petition at SignOn.org that is getting a lot of attention and may be of interest to people in your area. If you have concerns or feedback about this petition, click here.

Dear Kansas City MoveOn member,

We are a group of Kansas City Occupiers in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street. We've recently been warned by the police that they will begin issuing citations and arresting anyone who decides to stay at the camp. They stated that this was their final warning to us.

It is our First Amendment right to peaceably assemble, to speak openly without fear, and to petition our grievances to the government. We need your help to protect us.

That's why I created a petition to Sly James, Mayor of Kansas City, MO; Larissa Westenkirchner, the Mayor's Administrative Assistant; and Roosevelt Lyons, Special Assistant for Community Affairs, on SignOn.org, which says:

Mr. Mayor, please reconsider your decision to forcibly remove our peaceful assembly. We are a non-violent group of men, women, and children who camp to share ideas, our grievances and march to raise awareness in attempts to make our country a better place to live in. We are good people. We are not criminals.

Thank you for your time, Sir, and please reconsider the decision to remove us.

Will you sign the petition? Click here to add your name, and then pass it along to your friends:
