There is a new movie coming out on Project Jennifer, the CIA project
to recover a sunken Soviet submarine. I have added a couple of
drawings of HMB-1, Hughes Mining Barge #1, on the HNSA web site:
http://www.hnsa.org/doc/plans/index.htm
HMB-1 is a floating drydock built to hold the capture vehicle (clam
shell) that was part of Project Jennifer. This helped disguise the
purpose of Glomar Explorer and later, the recovered material. After
the famous recovery it sat empty for many years until it had a second
life as the drydock for the stealth research ship Sea Shadow. HMB-1
with Sea Shadow remain in the Susuin Bay Reserve Fleet (San Francisco
bay area) awaiting donation.
These drawings are not the greatest quality, and the deck plan is from
Sea Shadow era, but they might be interesting for some.
