We are happy to share with you that CEE is organizing an international conference titled “Education as a Driver for Sustainable Development Goals” from 11-13 January 2016, at Ahmedabad. This conference is being held immediately after the SDGs have been globally accepted at the United Nations through a consultative process that engaged people from all sectors, age groups, expertise and experience.
The Conference aims at bringing together global experience and expertise to highlight and strengthen the role of education in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will be an opportunity to build upon the learnings from the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD) for recognizing Education as a key enabler. The role of education in its broadest sense including training and capacity building, communication and creating public awareness, scientific research, sharing and access to information and networking; and partnerships becomes a key strategy for achieving the SDGs.
The conference spread over 3 days will have workshops corresponding to the SDGs. Plenary sessions planned during the conference will set the tone and pace for the more focused discussions and interactions in the workshops. We are also inviting papers from academic researchers and practitioners, specifically looking at the interface of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and the SDGs. We are happy to invite you to the Youth Empowerment workshop, which is one of the key workshops being held at the conference. The workshop will be focusing on building relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship for youth by 2030. By giving importance to discussion on livelihood generation and promoting Entrepreneurship among youth, the aim is to build capacity of youth and further prepare them to take up leadership roles in terms of Sustainable Development and ESD globally.
Interested participants are required to register for the workshop; registration fee is INR 3000. This fee can either be paid by you or by your institution on your behalf. In case of individual registration, then you can directly register, however, in case the institute covers your registration cost, please let us know and we will inform the further process.
