Folks,

I have this recurrent thought of just unhooking the wired internet.
Mainly because I'm sick of my wife and I struggling to pry our kids
away from some flash game or a show on Netflix, etc, etc.

Has anyone gone down this path? Care to share your thoughts?

Regards,

Niels

Can you just turn it off at certain hours of the day?

My ISP-provided router (verizon fios) can do all sorts of interesting
tricks with restricting some or all machines from accessing some or
all sites during particular times of day. Might be worth a look.

Also, FWIW, I showed my 5 and 7 year old Minecraft Classic last week
(just a freeform building environment with no resource restrictions,
other characters, or 'game' elements of any kind), and they haven't
used the computer for anything else since. They want to use the
computer even more than before, but they're doing really creative
things instead of just wasting time.
