We're hosting an event for people to just come hack on whatever they want to work on.

Make some progress on whatever project you're currently working on, meet some other hackers and work on a project with them, eat some Golden Grahams, and have a good time.

This audience is targeted towards developers, designers, anyone who builds things or has work to do and wants a time/place to hunker down and make some progress on their project.

Chad and I decided to put this together because we feel there are a lot of events around chicago for people to schmooze, but not enough events for people who actually build stuff to hunker down and hack in the presence of others. The coffee shop circuit can be a lonely existence, and paying 100 bucks to go to some hackathon, only to be pitched by bizdev guys who want you to build their product for them is really frustrating.

It's 5 bucks a head, just  because we want to buy cereal, milk, bowls and spoons for everyone. The leftover cash is going to go to Venture SHOT, our host, or if they don't care, we'll just take the remaining cash and buy beer for anyone who sticks around long enough.

Sounds neat. Do we get to eat coco puffs all day?

Sure, as long as you're also there to build stuff. :) Personally, I'm
looking forward to Cinnamon Life. Always had that as a kid.

BTW, I'm thinking about setting up some kind of a directory so we know
who's going and what they plan to work on. I'm planning on building a
small web app from scratch with TypeScript and AngularJS.

Sweet. I'll probably work on a rails app I'm  launching soon.

I always add chocolate chips, raisins and honey to my kellogg's corn
flakes ... sprinkle in some nuts and then pour chilled milk on it!

I'm planning to work on a phonegap app that me and a friend has
started working on at Braintree/Singly-s hackathon. They were using
hackathon.io to manage everything. It was pretty neat.

BTW, what's the line up for cartoons? I saw T&J, P&B, ... how about some Batman?
