Application Developer/Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

•    Develops, codes, tests, and debugs enhancements to existing software per approved Technical Specifications
•    Contributes to full life-cycle application development including user requirements, specifications, design, coding, testing, documentation, etc.
•    Improves and expands upon existing code framework to support integration of data from various source systems
•    Applies best practices for software version control, testing, and release protocols
•    Responsible for migrating code through different environments of Development, QA and Production
•    Creates scripts to automate routine administrative tasks in conjunction with System Administrator
•    Assists technical team in supporting/maintaining the Longview application, including (but not limited to):

o    Performing restatements & database backups

o    Managing end user security
o    Creating/updating workflows
o    Hierarchy and symbol maintenance
o    Input and report template creation/modifications
o    Providing end-user support

•    Responsible for testing new versions of the software as necessary
•    Performs other duties and projects as requested by supervisor
•    Can complete tasks timely when given general direction with minimal supervision

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
•    2-3 years of software development experience  required
•    Must have experience in the following:

o    Multi-dimensional databases
o    Various software development languages and platforms
o    Basic scripting languages
o    Advanced level proficiency in SQL  - including writing SQL
o    Advanced knowledge of Excel (macros and complex formulas)
o    Experience with HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript

•    Experience / Knowledge in the following areas considered a plus:

o    Longview, Oracle, MicroStrategy, Microsoft SSIS
o    Other Business Intelligence and ETL solutions

•    Must be goals oriented, self-motivated, and have excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
•    Ability to work independently or as part of a team on multiple, concurrent projects or tasks
•    Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
•    Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
•    Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Experience working on Financial applications for a Service Industry highly preferred
