Greetings from HMT!

Voting is now open (through 10/16) for the Washington City Paper's Best of DC Reader Poll. We are 5-time winners of Best Place To Buy Instruments, and we sure would appreciate your vote to win again! Here's the direct voting link to our category. You'll be prompted to create an account with your email (which allows you to go back and vote in other categories during the voting period). After you verify your email you can write in House of Musical Traditions. Many thanks!

We are celebrating our 50th year in business in 2022, and just received a very special 50th Anniversary guitar commissioned from luthier Bob Gramann. Called "The Sligo Creek," it's a 12-fret 00 guitar made from all US woods (including some that you might find growing in our area, such as Sycamore). See details on our website.

We also still have some of our 50th Anniversary Musical Traditions Lap Dulcimers, built by Carl Gotzmer of June Apple (who built many of the original Musical Traditions dulcimers in the 1960s-70s).

There's only a few more days to take advantage of instant rebate discounts on Breedlove ECO guitars. Through September 30, enjoy $50-$100 off these affordable and great-sounding guitars, made with all sustainably harvested woods - reflecting Breedlove's strong commitment to protecting the environment.

Here's what's coming up at School of Musical Traditions! Visit their website for full info and registration, or click on the individual links below. Except for the Thursday jam, all events are at SMT's Takoma Park studio.
