Hello Everyone,
I hope each of you are enjoying your weekend.

I have not heard back from anyone concerning information below. Please submit your thoughts and ideas.

I will be meeting with Dr. Carr on Monday and I am sure she will be ready to make decisions on events.

Thanks, Mr. Cox

Subject: Silent Auction Meeting Information

Hello Family,

This message is to inform you of the Silent Auction ideas that was discussed during meeting on Friday, February 8th.  Attached, you will find documents that were used in last year Silent Auction (sample letter to request donations, theme baskets for each class room, and flyers that are sent home by students).

The Silent Auction is scheduled for May 7th (during Spring Concert). The Silent Auction is one of our largest fundraisers and again we will need all hands on deck along with PTSA parents. If you notice, all three events are taking place in the month of May (Silent Auction, Teachers Appreciation, and Students Spirit Week).  I would like to ask everyone to please consider taking a lead on one of these events, please let me know which of these you would like to lead :-).

During Silent Auction, each class (in the past) were assigned a theme basket (see attachment), items were collected by teacher, we would pick up items and volunteers would come in and help create and wrap baskets.  The class that raises the most money will be treated to free pizza sponsored by PTSA.

During the meeting, the idea of having each class room create their own baskets instead of PTSA giving them a theme was presented.  What do you guys think about this idea?  Maybe the students would be more creative and put more work into developing their baskets especially knowing that the winner will get free pizza and with Dr. Carr blessing, a day out of SSA (again using this as a incentive).

These are our roll out dates for this event:  March 1st, flyers will be sent home to parents concerning Silent Auction, Mrs. Kelly will be asked to send out E-bulletin concerning Silent Auction, Teachers will be informed (depending on which route we take, theme baskets or allowing students to create theme),

letters will also go out to local business to request donations for Silent Auction (Mr. Berry, could you head this up please).

April 26th will be the deadline for all items to be turned in for Silent Auction (again, in the past, items were collected and PTSA members would create and wrap baskets, students may create and wrap their own baskets depending upon our/Dr. Carr decision). If PTSA will be responsible for making and wrapping baskets, we will ask for volunteers to help with baskets from April 29th - May 6th.

Please send us your thoughts.  Can someone revise the flyer with the correct dates?  If you guys know of any business owners who would like to donate items, we can use sample letter above.

Mrs. Walker if I have omitted anything, please inform us. Thanks again for taking time to meet and discuss this event.

Mr. Cox
