Subject: FW: Head Middle Magnet - proxy reader

Before the holiday break, Mr. Cox sent me an e-mail asking me what are Head’s needs.

Well, that is a loaded question. Below you will see that we had two proxy locks installed last week. They were installed. We have to pay $1,000.00 for one of the locks. It allows teachers to enter the gym and the school by using a key fob that has a code to enter the building. I tried them today and they both work. This allows us to lock the gym and the doors leading out to the gym while allowing teachers to have the needed access.

This is one of our needs.

We will also need to purchase ixl.com (the math program students use) for next year. IXL.com will also add a Language Arts/Reading component that I am interested in. It has not been added yet. We will also want to purchase Study Island for Science and Social Studies. These two purchases would be for the 2013-2014 school year.

I do not have a quote for these yet.

I have used the principal’s fund to purchase several items this year. I am down to less than two hundred dollars.

I would like to have $2,000.00 for the account for next year (2013-2014).

I can get the quote for Study Island. I am not sure if I will be able to get a quote from ixl.com since Language Arts has not been added yet. The website says the addition is just around the corner.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Linda,

A number of years ago, Maintenance began receiving numerous requests for proxy locks but did not have the budget to purchase and install all the locks requested.  We believed that proxy locks were superior to issuing keys to school staff since we could remove their access by deleting security codes from the lock after employees were terminated, transferred or retired.  But, the Security Office could not afford to fulfill all the requests for proxy locks either.  To ensure that schools had some proxy locks, I made an arrangement with Maintenance that the Security Office would pay for the equipment for 2 proxy locks at a school and Maintenance would install them.  Any additional proxy locks would be the responsibility of the school.  We’ll be glad to install a second proxy lock for Head but additional proxy locks will have to be paid by Head (about $1,000 each).

Yes, all the proxy locks can be programmed with the same access codes.

Mr. Keel,

We actually need two additional readers---one for each side of the corridor between the gym and the school.

Is it possible to sync these so one fob works on all of the proxy readers at Head?

Troy,

At Head Middle Magnet, please install a second proxy reader on the gymnasium doors in the walkway area with the same access codes as the existing proxy reader.

Thank you.

Good Morning,

Head Middle Magnet is in need of an additional keyless door entry system (fob system) for the gymnasium doors in our walkway area.  We currently have a system on the front (main) door.

Is it possible to synchronize the keyless door systems so that one fob and one fob number would be used for both doors?

Good Morning PTSA Members,

I hope all is well with each of you and your families.  I rejoice in what is happening within the HMMS PTSA since you guys have come on board, your insight and vision has truly elevated HMMS PTSA to the next dimension.

I also noticed that since you guys have volunteered your time to serve our children, teachers, and faculty, that several of you have entered into new positions (job wise), Mrs. Miller re-entered the workforce, Mrs. Ashurst was promoted, and Mr. Berry has recently started a new job, I am sure Mrs. Walker has a testimony of greatness that has happened in her life also :-).

I guess the good book is true, "The greatest among you is a Servant".  Thanks again for your great service !!!

Mr. Berry, when do you want to meet again to discuss upcoming events.  Concerning Silent Auction, I believe we need to create letters and mail out to request items to bid upon, I am sure other schools and organizations are doing the same thing.  Did we get membership form turned in along with dues?

Are we in agreement to pay for one of the proxy readers Dr. Carr mentioned below. These were installed for the safety of our children. The door to the gym and into the school coming from the school were wide open for anyone to walk in, these proxy readers locks the doors.

If we all are in agreement, Mrs. Walker, can you write check to school, I am sure Mrs. Taylor can provide us with a copy of the invoice, etc...  Is everyone in agreement?

Mr. Cox

Hey Family,
We purchased IXL license on last  year. I am sure everyone is familiar with IXL program used to help our students with math. All students are able to use it. Students were informed to use this program over Winter Break. I believe parents would be in agreement that its worth the investment, I believe this is what the money is given for.

Your thoughts?

Mr. Cox

Hello Everyone, I have resent the email from Dr. Carr concerning her request. Sounds like these request are for 2013-2014 school year. Dr. Carr is asking for $2,000 to have in her Principal fund for next year.

These are items we can all discuss and think on before making decision. What say you, Mr. President?
