Hi all,

It would be great to get some advice. I have camera trap data across 18 months which covers wet and dry seasons, spans across two years with some sites being sampled more than once while others just a single visit. Cameras were out in 3 month blocks but didn't always remain 'active' for the full time period so i was planning to use either 24hr replicates or 5 day block replicates.

I want to look at how species occupancy varies 1) spatially along the gradient of sites and with vegetation cover and 2) across seasons. Any advice on how best to unpick the spOccupancy options? I'm conscious of getting the correct interpretation between single- and multi- season models.

Really appreciate the advice in advance.

Hi Felicity,

What do you mean by unpick the spOccupancy options? I think if you're between model types, you could fit different models and select based on wAIC or another model selection criteria. There's also a separate google group for spoccupancy and spabundance that you can find here: https://groups.google.com/g/spocc-spabund-users/about

Best,
Matt
